The 2021 International Women’s Day celebration was celebrated on the 8th March 2021 at Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere Lagos with the theme: I Choose to Challenge.

Women and girls with intellectual & developmental disabilities have inherent sexual rights like all people. These rights and needs must be affirmed, defended, and respected.

Lots of people have the mindset that people with Intellectual & Developmental disability are sexual hence they lack access to appropriate sex education. In view of this myth/fallacy, we educate our adults and parents of people with intellectual disabilities on sexuality education. we enlighten them on the following rights:

Body parts

Body image

Sexual abuse

Protection and Assertiveness

Social interaction

Relationship

Consent

Masturation

Public & Private behaviour.

It was an exciting and insightful session with the parents and adults with intellectual disabilities they were able to understand their sexuality in relation to their self-awareness
