ICCF-IYANIWURA LIFE SKILLS RESIDENTIAL CENTER


ICCF-Iyaniwura Life Skills Center is a practical empowerment arm of ICCF created to equip children, youths, and adults living with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds with employability, independent living, and entrepreneurial skills.

The center focuses on helping residents discover their strengths, become self-reliant, and contribute meaningfully to society. It is a model of inclusion where ability is recognized above disability.

Objectives of the Life Skills Center:

. Promote independent living skills
. Reduce unemployment among persons with disabilities
. Build self-confidence and dignity
. Encourage entrepreneurship and small business creation
. Develop communication and social skills
. Prepare residents for workplace and community integration

Training Areas:
Housekeeping
Cooking
Laundry services
Arts and crafts
Digital/basic computer literacy
Wig making/ revamping
Personal hygiene and self-care
Money management
Communication and customer service
Leadership and teamwork
Social Value

The center demonstrates that persons with disabilities are productive citizens when given training, opportunity, and support. It also helps families and communities shift from pity to empowerment.

At the moment the center has 30 young adults with intellectual disabilities from age 18-45yrs old with 10 mentors.
